Solo is a Shareware card game
Four players play the game each holding 13 cards. Similar
to Bridge the game is a bidding game but it is
individualistic. The only partner game is that of Prop and
Cop - 8 tricks. The other calls are Solo 5 tricks,
Misere - no tricks, Abondance - 9 tricks, Royal Abondance
- 9 tricks, Open Misere - no tricks, and Super Abondance
- 13 tricks. The computer plays three of the hands; you play
the remaining hand. The cards are shuffled to begin the game.
The cards are cut individually by each player. The lowest card
deals first. If there is a tie the cards are cut again.
Thereafter the player to the dealer's left is the New Dealer
when the hand is over. The cards are dealt in threes beginning
with the player on the dealer's left. When four cards remain in
the deck each player is dealt one card. The last card dealt is
turned face up. The suit of this card is 'trumps'. A card of
this suit may be used by a player to win a trick provided that
the player is void of the suit led. Another player may
'overtrump' to win the trick if this player is also void of the
suit led.
